Writer's block

Question: Well, I've been working on my novel 4 years and I still don't have any plot or themes. What should I do with such a stubborn story? Should I give up on it? But can I still use the characters in another story?

Answer: Four years is a long time not to have any plot emerge. I assume you've been spending it on developing your characters?

Can you use the characters in another story? Of course.

You might also try picking one of your characters and creating a list of possible problems that person could have in his/her life. (I'm referring to a specific event, not a chronic problem.) Try to find they biggest crisis they will ever face. Solving it will become your story goal.
