Question: Glen, My story is about my main character spending time in a cottage on a lake in the woods during the winter. She is normally at the lake during the summer when most of her friends are there only in the summer, as well. This forces her to meet and become friends with the local people who live in the area all year round.
I'm pleased with what I've written, but I'm finding that, so far, my main character is involved in all of the interactions in the story.
Is this a problem? Answer:
It's not a problem at all. Just make sure that a plot emerges out of these interactions - one that revolves around the main character's pursuit of a story goal or problem.
