Do I have to start from the beginning to write a novel?

by Peter
(England)

Question: I have a basic outline of the beginning but other than that I have no idea what to do with it whereas I know more about when the team is assembled than the characters coming together and its process.

Answer: Of course not. You can start writing at any point in the story. Later on, you can go back and write the beginning when it feels clearer to you what must have happened.
