Changing Roles

Question: Is it possible for the antagonist and protagonist to change these titles?

Answer: There are times when the villain may actually be the protagonist (for instance, if he is pursuing an evil plan) and the hero may be the antagonist (the person trying to stop the evil plan).

However, usually the protagonist will still have the motivation of Consider - as in, considering or getting others to consider the importance of stopping the plan. The villain then retains the motivation of Reconsider (urging others to reconsider interfering with his plan).

It's worth remembering that the term "protagonist" means "first actor," as in the first character to take action or to embark on the pursuit of the goal.
