Antagonist's Influence after Death

Question: In my new WIP, the antagonist is introduced in Part 2 and dies in Part 3, but the problem she introduces and her bad influence continues until the resolution in Part 4. Do you think that would work for a novel.

Answer: I see no reason why not.

In some stories, the role of antagonist is passed on to a new character when the original antagonist dies (for example, a child, student, partner, computer program, etc. of the original). However, you can, as you say, find other ways for her influence to continue - if you need to keep the protagonist on his toes.
